Finally!

Finally my creative juices are starting to flow...I know, I know, a little late for all my Christmas gifts to be homemade, but I am managing to pull some things together. I have a problem with just going out and buying gifts for people off a list. I prefer to think of something on my own that they would LOVE or better yet making something. Since I am getting a late start for this year I have plans to work on a few things during the winter months for next year. I am already soooo excited!!! The bummer part is that I can't post pictures of them b/c certain someones may see them. I am enjoying trying to be a more thoughtful person and am thankful for the Christmas season and that it makes me think of others.

Christmas Lights

Kurt and I decided to drive around and check out the Christmas lights around town last night. We did our best to make it as "Christmassy" as possible. We dressed warm, got Dunkin Donuts coffee and listened to Christmas music on the radio as we drove around. No snow, BUT a winter weather advisory was in effect. Christmas Lights don't look quite the same without snow on them. We wrapped up the night with a movie while awaiting the news of our friends child's birth. It was a night to remember!

Hymns

I just got this with birthday money. The words have been such a blessing. There is something about the lyrics in hymns that have such a deep meaning. I love every song and they have been speaking directly to my heart and mind. I come home from work and put it on and it helps to focus my life on the One who cares for me more than I can even imagine. I came across this artist on Pandora. I have the Hymns ones called Roots Run Deep. If anyone is looking for a gift to give someone that can be a blessing as well, I recommend this CD. Check it out!!!

Updates

I haven't posted a few days so I am filling in on what has been happening...

My parents came down for Thanksgiving. We had our friends over to join us and had a great time!


Kurt and I decorated for Christmas complete with egg nog and Christmas music
Mac got a new Christmas ball that he is scared of
Mac got "fixed" and this is him making us feel really bad for what we put him through

A Great Visit

My brother wife and kids came to visit this weekend. They drove 12 hours to spend 2 days with us just because they care about us. I have a great family and am sooooooo thankful for them!!!! Here are the highlights of the trip and for some there are pictures...

-Christmas Photo Shoot after the fam drove all night.

-A long morning walk with Emily and a night "hike" with everyone minus Kurt and River

-Mac getting lots of exercise from Lily

-Claire got her ears pierced for her birthday. No tears!
-Celebrating Claire's 3rd Birthday
-Getting to spend time with these 2 great guys
-Playing a childhood favorite at the party...drop the clothespin in the jar
-Just getting to spend quality time with my family.

Thanks guys for coming out. The girls are a blast. River is cute! It meant a lot that you guys took the time to come visit for such a short time. Can't wait till Christmas!!!!!

Ugg Boots VS. AE Boots

First of all...why do I find it soooo hard to get my pictures where I want them??? I need help there!!! This is very frustrating!!!! I want them side by side with a "vs" in between them.

Oh well, onto the real topic. I have battled this decision for almost a month now. I finally decided tonight to go with the AE boots for the most obvious reason...price. Ugg boots are about $180 and the AE ones were $40. I think it was kindof a no brainer. Now I have birthday money left over to buy some other things!!! Looking forward to shopping!!!

Photography Hopes

Andy, Emily and the girls have been very faithful people for me to practice taking pictures. I would LOVE to do this as a side job some day, so if you know anyone that wants there pictures taken for free (for me to get practice) let me know!!!
